The Cellar Shot
- Clos Saron ‘Stone Soup’ Syrah 2017, Sierra Foothills - Co-fermented with 10% Viognier since the 2013 vintage. This Syrah is lighter than most in body and alcohol, yet has a very deep color. It has a refreshing acidity that keeps us coming back for more. Let it breathe and come together in a decanter for a couple hours before diving in.
- Tenuta delle Terre Nere San Lorenzo Etna Rosso 2022, Sicily, Italy - This ‘Grand Cru’ from one of two “pure” terroirs of volcanic sand is particularly rich, fruity and has very soft tannins, making it velvety and voluptuous on the palate.
The Californian
- Erggelet Brothers Rosé of Carignane 2022, Contra Costa - From the Del Barba vineyard this is a light and lower alcohol rosé. It is bright and aromatic. Notes of red fruit, orange zest and white stone fruit.
- I Brand & Family Pinot Gris 2022, San Benito - From the oldest continually producing commercial vineyard in CA, Eden Rift, this is a delicious orange wine with tannic complexity, watermelon notes and hints of baking spice.
- Gros Ventre Gamay Noir 2021, Santa Barbara - Alisos Canyon is one of the newest AVAs where the Nolan Ranch is located. Partial whole cluster and native ferments; strawberry, cranberry, roses, cedar, and spice. Perfectly easygoing approach to sip while barbecuing.
The Trust Fall
- Mandirola 1913 Derthona Timorasso 2022, Piedmont, Italy - A white rarity from the oldest Timorasso plantings in Colli Tontonesi. Intense, beautiful texture, pear, toasted almond, and florality. Chablis anyone?
- Piquentum Teran 2020, Istria, Croatia - Indigenous varietal from the Refosco family, it differs in that it has slightly higher acidity and pronounced iron and sanguine flavors. Organically grown with a wild ferment. This is a complex but lively wine.
- Bastide du Claux Barraban 2020, Luberon, France - A seven varietal blend primarily of Vermentino and Grenache Blanc. Aromas of honeysuckle and pear, with pleasant acidity and ripe, round stone fruit on the palate.
